Unfortunately, Our Louisville Cardinals will get smoked by Kentucky today. The line of Kentucky -8 is a total joke. Bet the house on The Sons of Calipari winning by double digits. This one's going to get ugly.

Still pissed...
Year end Metro party at the coach's house on Saturday. We didn't even bother to RSVP. We'll show up (late, of course) just to piss him off.
Rude?
Like we care.

Good news, bad news...
Bad news: We're old enough to have attended a surprise 50th birthday party tonight.
Good news: It was Captain Ray's party. So it was tons of fun.

This is gonna be fun...
Tim Tebow. He's a terrible passer. A good runner. A wonderful person. And a fascinating story. Of all the teams to go to, could there be a worse fit than the Jets?!? You've got loud mouthed Rex Ryan. The insecure Mark Sanchez. And about a 100 media people who will be following Tebow's every move. This won't end well for him. But it will be oh-so-interesting to sit back and watch.

Double 4s...
Today, we became The Boz, #44. And right on cue, we woke up this morning and our back was in some serious discomfort. Kind of like, Happy Effing Birthday, Sucker!

The Playmaker: Working on a Sunday...
10:45 - 11:00 Took grounders in the infield.
12:15 - 1:30 Lacrosse practice.
3:30 - 3:45 Hit off the tee in the driveway.
3:45 - 4:15 Picked up a basketball for the first time since the Metro coach coached us out of the playoffs 11 days ago. Worked on behind the back going left and right. Hit 27-40 foul shots.

Basketball rewind...
Rewind...
Last Saturday, The Playmaker ended his rec season with a 21 point beat-down that saw Your Grizzlies win their 9th game in a row and end the season 9-2 (good for second place in the 23 team league). One loss came in overtime. The other was a 6 point loss to a team that illegally had two Metro players. (Each team is supposed to have zero or one.) The Playmaker had 12 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and ... wait for it ... 5 blocks (all coming against the center on his Metro team).
The next day, Sunday, saw his Metro team lose their final game, 32-30. They had a 5 point lead with four minutes to play and pissed it away with bad decisions. The Playmaker had 0 points (0-2 shooting), but led the team with 7 rebounds (season high) to go along with 2 assists.

Good stuff
The Big East Tournament starts this afternoon. And with it, a week and a half of afternoon college hoops begins. Today and tomorrow the games will be streaming on our classroom computer. Same with next Thursday, the first day of March Madness. Best time of the sporting year.

Thunder @ 76ers ...
1. If you get within three feet of Kevin Durant, the refs will call a foul on you! KD is a great player. But he gets more calls than anyone in recent memory. When it's against your team, it's disgusting.
2. Evan Turner is a B-U-S-T! The aforementioned Durant was the second pick in the draft. A few years later, Turner, too, was the second pick in the draft. Here's what he is: a good defender, as well as a good dribbler and rebounder for his position (combo guard/small forward). Here's what he isn't: a good shooter. In fact, he's a bad shooter. And at best, he's an average athlete. Put his two weaknesses together and they add up to a guy who can't score in the NBA. The league is full of guys like that. But N-O-N-E of them were the second pick in the draft. DeMarcus Cousins should have been the pick, not ET12.
3. Spencer Hawes is a pu$$y! Stop being hurt. Start manning up.
4. Elton Brand is spent ... D-O-N-E! And it's a shame. He works hard. He's in good shape. But his body just won't do what he wants it to do. Teams with power forwards who can score have torched the Sixers all season. Brand is the main reason why.
5. Jrue Holiday couldn't defend you! Teams with point guards who can score have torched the Sixers all season. Holiday is the main reason why.
