Opening Day in baseball for The Playmaker yesterday. He was the starting shortstop. He singled in the opening stanza to drive in our first run of the game/season. After two innings we trailed, 6-1. He came in to pitch in the third inning. He notched a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout, pop out, strike out. In the fourth inning he gave up a single and a walk, but struck out the cleanup hitter with runners on first and third to get out of the inning. His pitching line was: 2 innings pitched, 1 hit, 1 walk, 0 runs, 4 K's. When he left after four, we were ahead 8-6 and he was in line to get the W. Unfortunately the kid who relieved him sheeeeeet the bed and gave up 6 runs over the final two innings. We ended up losing, 12-9. At the plate, The Playmaker was 1-1 with 2 RBIs and 2 walks (one with the bases loaded). Oh, yeah, in the fifth inning he played catcher and nailed a kid trying to steal second.
