Gotcha...

Just before vacation, The Playmaker's Sister had a H-U-G-E math test on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions. The two of us busted our asses for two days getting ready for the test. On our way home from school today she called us. We quickly asked about the test.

Her response?

Five seconds of silence, followed by, "I didn't do so well."

We took a deep breath and asked, "What was your score?"

"Um, well..." she stammered.

Smoke now coming out of our ears, we raised our voice a tad and said, "WHAT was your score?!?"

She giggled and then said, "I got a 100 percent!"

Classic.

Snow...

This was last night's "snow storm" that netted us about 3 inches. Unfortunately, winter is winding down -- so we wanted another HD video.

Tripleheader...

Had an 8 AM playoff game with The Playmaker's Sister, which we won. As a prize, we got to play a second game at 2 PM, which we lost. Season over. In between, The Playmaker had an 11 AM game, which we lost by 10. A quiet day for him 4 points (2-2 shooting), 4 rebounds and 3 assists. We have to admit that the Urban Meyer Burnout has officially set in.

Losing for charity

The Playmaker and three of his friends entered a 3-on-3 soccer tournament to support a local charity yesterday. The boys (named the Phantasic Phour) made it to the semifinals, before losing 4-1. The Playmaker had the lone goal.

Today, we are going to Cheesecake Factory for lunch. After that, with the rainy weather, we'll probably get L-A-Z-Y and watch the Bulls-Heat game on DVR and bust open a few boxes.

Happy Friday!

Who's your Big?!?

Moving Kendrick Perkins for an above average small forward (Jeff Green), someone who will be a backup?!?

Gotta love Danny Ainge.

His only claim to fame continues to be the fact his BFF Kevin McHale gave him Kevin Garnett, which led directly to an NBA Championship.

Otherwise, the guy's done nothing.

Classic.

February Vacation, 2.0

1. Took the dog to the vet for his annual physical. (And, yes, he peed on the floor in the waiting area.)

2. Dropped the dog off at home and took the kids to Target. (Blaster boxes for The Playmaker, scrapbooking stuff for The Playmaker's Sister, a birthday card for us to mail to BFF NB.)

3. Practiced lacrosse in the driveway for 30 minutes with the kids.

4. Did some Henry Abbott research.

5. Video taped The Playmaker doing two box breaks for his blog.

6. Dinner menu: burgers on the grill.

UPDATE to yesterday's 1.0 edition: At the local HS basketball game last night, we entered the 50-50 halftime raffle. Shocker! as we had the ... wait for it ... winning ticket! We gave the ticket to the kids and they walked onto the court and claimed our $80 winnings. Woo! Woo!

February Vacation, 1.0

1. Hump elliptical for 60 minutes.
2. Take kids to Dunkin' Donuts.
3. Clean out kitchen cabinet full of school supplies, sports cards, art supplies and junk.
4. Go to Bob's for new jeans (us), Kobe T-shirt (The Playmaker) and shorts (The Playmaker's Sister).
5. Move Christmas boxes from guest room to the attic.
6. Admire clean cabinet and spotless guest room.
7. Get ready to take kids and wife to local high school hoops game.

Lost by 2 to best team

We played the best team we'd faced all year yesterday. Unfortunately, we lost 37-35. That included cutting a 10 point deficit to 2 in the final quarter. Unfortunately, we had two shots on the last possession of the game, but could not capitalize. We had the ball with 20 seconds left and called timeout. We designed a 1-4 clear out for The Playmaker. We told the kids to be ready for when he beat his man down the lane and look for a catch-and-shoot opportunity. The Playmaker drive right and then crossed over to the left (easily beating his man) and headed down the lane where two defenders swallowed him up. He passed to a teammate on the left wing for an uncontested 7 footer that was back-rimmed. The followup offensive rebound was no good at the buzzer. For the game, The Playmaker had 7 points (3-5 shooting, 1-2 from the foul line, 5 rebounds and 4 assists). The Nets are now 7-3 and one game out of first place.

Same old Pee Pee

He was thoroughly embarrassed on national TV last Sunday against LeBron James and the Miami Heat. Loser-Douchebag-A-Hole Paul Pierce scored ... wait for it ... ONE point (on classic oh-for-10 "shooting").

What did he do after that piss-poor-performance?!?

He said he had a bad foot. So bad, in fact, he said he needed to get an MRI on it.

And what did the MRI reveal?!?

N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!! (Shocker!)

(Apparently MRIs can't scan for the syndrome known as being a TOTAL FRAUD.)

Last night, with King James long gone, Pee Pee got to play against the Mighty Nets. Predictably, he scored 31 points.

Guess the foot doesn't hurt so much when you play a crappy team.

That's what we're talkin' about...

Reports are starting to circulate that the Eagles will make a Big Run at star corner Nnamdi Asomugha. That would be step 1 in shoring up a piss-poor defense. Actually, make that step 2. Step 1 was firing DC Sean McDermott.

Happy Valentine's Day

These are the Valentines that The Playmaker gave out to his class today. The girls all got KG and Melo. His Best Friends got the Kobes and Kevin Durants. (Read in to that what you will.)

Nets win by 23...

We blew out the other team today, 35-13. The score was a whopping 2-zip (us), after one. From there we exploded. Unfortunately, it was the worst game of the year for The Playmaker. He was held to just 3 points (1-5 shooting, 1-4 from the foul line). He did have 2 assists, but grabbed only 1 rebound. Needless to say, there was a lengthy player-coach "chat" on the way home from the game. The Nets are now 7-2 and in first place.

6-12-2

Those are The Playmaker's numbers from last week's basketball game for the Nets. He scored 6 points (on sub par 3-10 shooting) and had 2 assists to go along with a manly 12 rebounds. Part of his shooting woes had to do with the fact the other team's best player was guarding him. No big deal (been there, done that), except for the fact the kid was, no lie, at least 5 inches taller. We won the game, 34-23, to improve to 6-2 and move into a first place tie.

Super Bowl Turkey

This is the turkey we cooked yesterday on Super Bowl Sunday. It came out great -- very moist. At nearly 15 pounds, it took only 2 1/2 hours to cook. As for the game itself, we found it kind of boring. (Granted we fell asleep midway through the third quarter.) The halftime show was simply AWFUL. We know nothing about The Black Eyed Peas, other than what we saw last night. They suck. Their music really sucks. And their costumes were just STUPID. As for the National Anthem, not every American knows all the words. But if you're singing it in front of millions, shouldn't you know all the words?!? Lastly, we we are currently taking The Wife's OxyContin for our left tricep snow injury. Ugh.

Sunday, February 6, 2011

Ugh...

Took more snow off the roof today. Pretty sure we tore our tricep muscle. No sheeet.

Three & out...

1. Still not sure what team we're pulling for tomorrow! We don't think the Packers are all that great. In fact, the Eagles gave them their toughest game of the playoffs. And if "Mike" Vick throws that pass to Riley Cooper a split second earlier, Philly wins the game. Not much about the Steelers appeals to us. Their coach, Mike Tomlin, seems like a good guy. And LaMarr Woodley is a Michigan Man. We'll probably simply watch and hope it's a good game.

2. EB#42! Wow. Elton Brand dropped 34 & 17 on the Knicks last night. He's gotta be Comeback Player of the (half) Year, right?!?

3. The Phillies truck has left the lot! Next stop, Clearwater. It's all good.

Had our fifth snow day off from school today. Went to Target, then watched a million hours of college football signing day on ESPNU.
