Vintage Diesel...

Your Flag Football Cardinals waxed another opponent last night, winning to the tune of 42-14. We would have had 56 points, but one drive ended with a dropped pass in the end zone and another ended on the 5 yard line. And, no, we did not run up the score. Instead, we were aided by two defensive interceptions, which gave us two extra possessions.

The Playmaker had one catch for 20 yards. He was thisclose to the end zone, but had his flagged pulled on the 2 yard line. He did score on a 25 yard end around run. (It was his first rush of the season.) The ending was classic and testimony to how much football The Playmaker watches. He started out split wide left and came around and got the handoff from The Head Ball Coach. He then tight roped down the right sideline and chugged toward the end zone. At about the 2 yard line there was a massive traffic jam. One defender tried yanking his flag as another defender (accompanied by a Cardinal) went for the soccer slide tackle. No flags were dislodged, but The Playmaker did tumble forward and fall into the pile of players. As he did so, he extended his arm and held out the ball which hit the pylon as he fell on top of bodies. He quickly sprang up and looked around for the call. Touchdown!

Classic. Totally classic.
