Yesterday the Phillies declined their option on Brad Lidge's contract for 2012. While he has been mediocre (and injured) the past three seasons, he deserves Our Gratitude (extreme gratitude) for his dominant 2008 season. A season in which he was 48-48 in save opportunities, including game 5 -- the clinching game of the World Series.
