The WNBA: Where chics come to fight!

Wow. Who knew WNBA Chics could (and would) fight?

Tuesday night's game between the Los Angeles Sparks and Detroit Shock featured a game ending brawl between League Poster Girl Candace Parker and some thug from the Shock named Ron Artest Plenette Pierson. But it got even better, as Detroit assistant coach Rick Mahorn was ejected for shoving LA's Lisa Leslie, the first lady of women's hoops, to the deck. And then Leslie's teammate DeLisha Milton-Jones came to her defense and punched Mahorn...wait for it...in the back! (Can you picture an NBA player slugging another player in the back?!?) The look on Mahorn's face was priceless. He turned around and looked like a mosquito had landed on his back. We can't even be sure he felt the tap "punch."

In the immediate aftermath, Leslie did a live interview with ESPN's Rebecca Lobo and said how ashamed she was to be part of such an embarrassing situation. The fight was such big news that newspapers checked in with Kobe Bryant to get his take. This from the Sacramento Bee: "I think it's good for her (Candace Parker) that she didn't back down." Not to be out done, Joe Maloof, co-owner the Sacramento Monarchs (and Sacramento Kings), when asked about the fight said: "I don't see it in a negative way." (Rest assured if he said that about an NBA fight, Whore Stern would be meeting with him in 60 seconds and telling him to bring his checkbook.) Anyway, here is the video. It's worth a good chuckle!
