John Lackey = LOSER

Nice of John Lackey to take the binky out of his mouth last night long enough to grace us with some very classy comments following his Angel team's exit (yet again) from the playoffs.

“We are way better than they [Boston Red Sox] are. We lost to a team not as good as us.” -- Um, John, if you are "way better" than the Red Sox, why did you only win one of the four games against them?!? If Boston is "not as good" as your team, why are they getting ready to play the Rays and you are already starting your off-season?!?

And then he unleashed the following:

“[On Sunday] they scored on a pop fly they called a hit, which is a joke,” said Lackey, referring to a pop-up that was misplayed into three runs. “[On Monday], they score on a broken-bat ground ball and a fly ball anywhere else in America [except in Fenway Park]. And [Dustin Pedroia’s] fist-pumping on second like he did something great.” -- Wow. You did not really say that, did you?!? See, John, when you win games, it's OK to pump your fist. And that fly ball that hit The Green Monster? That same Monster was there when your team was batting, too.

One final thing, Loser, errrr, Lackey. You started two of the four games in the series. Your team lost both of those games. Enjoy your long off-season.
