Two for three -- and happy about it

Just as we predicted, Joe Blanton pitched a stellar game today against the Brewers. He pitched six innings, allowed 1 run and struck out 7. The Phillies got dingers from J-Roll, Pat the Bat and J-Werth in their 6-2 NLDS clinching win. Next up are the Dodgers Thursday night in Philadelphia.

Also, as we predicted, the Colts stormed back to beat the Texans by scoring 21 points in just over two minutes. Ironically, after watching the Phillies clinch, we took the dog for a walk knowing the Phillies had advanced and that we were officially out of Last Man Standing. (The Colts trailed 27-10.) Upon coming back from the walk and sitting down to update the blog, we discovered they had won. Wow. Double wow.

Alas, we could not pull of the trifecta as the Eagles gave their game away to the Redskins. Now at 2-3, it is time to write the season off and rebuild. The Andy Reid/Donovan McNabb era in Philly needs to end. Reid's ways no longer work and there is no sense paying millions to #5 if you truly are rebuilding.
