Saturday Morning Facts & Predictions

1. Soccer Team 708 continued its march to perfection with a 7-5 victory on a beautiful 9:15 autumn morning today. The Playmaker led the way with 4 more goals. We are now 4-0.

2. We enjoy the NFL. We love college football. Yet another reason why the college game is better is this: Today, we will have 26 (26!) games to watch on TV. The first ones start at noon and the final ones start at 10 PM. With the NFL, you need Direct TV to watch half that number of games. And all the games are are at either 1 PM or 4:15 PM.

3. Fascinating matchup tonight (that no one is talking about): UConn, minus QB Tyler Lorenzen, travels to North Carolina, fresh off its "upset" (we guess) win at Miami. We'll take the Tar Heels.

4. Don't look now, but the Dukies have a big football game. (Repeat: Duke -Duke!- is playing in a big football game!) The Blue Devils travel to Georgia Tech and are actually in first place of the ACC. Still, we have Tech winning by double digits.

5. Coach Pete loathes Oregon coach Mike Belloti (as do we). And his USC Trojans lost last week, getting upset at Oregon State. As such, he will try to hang half-a-undred on Bozo, errrrr, Belloti and his 23rd ranked Ducks. Even though stud linebacker Rey Maualuga may not play, Southern Cal will cruise by at least two touchdowns.
