C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N-S

Your Flag Football Packers finished up their season last night, soundly defeating the Cardinals, 22-8. That gave us a 10-3 record, good for first place in the 6-year old division. The Playmaker played defense in the first half. He had not one, but two interceptions (two!) -- both of which directly led to touchdowns. In the second half, he played offense. He had one 15 yard reception. We had three second half possessions -- on two of them we let the kids play QB. Not surprisingly, no points were scored -- but the kids enjoyed taking turns passing the ball.

Not playing like champions

Your Our Philadelphia 76ers are playing like C-R-A-P these days. The addition of EB#42 has not (yet) had the positive impact forecasted by many. Mo Cheeks has moved Thaddeus Young to the small forward spot, which, in turn, has moved Andre Iguodala to shooting guard. Iguodala is a lot of things -- being a good shooter is definitely not one of them. Cheeks (and assistant Jimmy Lynam, who does most of the Xs and Os) would be wise to move Young to the bench and Iggy back to SF. And who would become the shooting guard? Willie Green at least tries hard. And Kareem Rush can at least hit an occasional trey. But the move is not so much about the shooting guard as much as it is about getting Iguodala back on track. And that only figures to happen from his natural small forward spot.
