Sunday Morning Thoughts...

1. Texas Tech is pretty darn good. They can seemingly score at will -- as evidenced by last night's 56-20 thumping of OS-Who. However, they have yet to play a team with a good-to-great defense (no, Texas does not have one). Will the be able to score enough against Nick Saban's Alabama schemes? Does Tech have the athletes (excluding Michael Crabtree) to score at will against Florida? USC is on the outside looking in, but can you honestly picture Tech scoring 30 points on Southern Cal?!? One thing we do know, is that the Tech-OU game in two weeks (11/22) will be something like 63-54.

2. How long will it take the 3-headed beast of Osama, Action Jackson and Obese Winfrey to ask why Charlie Weiss is still employed at Notre Dame? To get shutout against Boston College (17-zip) is not good. Not good at all.

3. The only surprise about Penn State losing yesterday (24-23 at Iowa), was that it did not happen sooner. The Nittany Lions are a pretty good team playing in a terrible conference. Tech would have dropped a quick 50 on them. Alabama would have shut them down (if not out). And Florida would have sprinted past them to the tune of 35-17.

4. To paraphrase Tony Bruno, it's not our style to rip people, BUT...we are pretty sure yesterday's performance turned in by LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee was the worst we have ever seen at the collegiate level. He was 13-34 for 181 yards, 1 TD and...wait for it...4 picks. Granted, one of the picks was not his fault. Still, one pick was returned for a score and another one led to an easy score. His final pick happened in OT, ensuring the Tigers would not score on their first possession. We can only guess how is defensive teammates view him this morning after last night's 27-21 overtime loss.
